This conference, organised by the National Documentation Centre (EKT) with the support of LIBER and SPARC Europe, aims at presenting the role of Open Access in an emerging environment that promotes research and scholarly communication, competitiveness, innovation, the learning and educational processes, transparency and a participatory culture among citizens.  

The conference will be held at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Vassileos Konstantinou Avenue 48 in Athens, Greece.

 
Presentations will focus on national and European policies, initiatives and Open Access infrastructures, international collaborations and current trends in scholarly communication and content management, as well as Open Access initiatives by the National Documentation Centre. Topics to be discussed relate to Open Access to Research; Open Educational Resources and Open Public Data.

This conference follows the very successful international conference 'Open Access Infrastructures for scholarly communications' held in 2008 organized two years ago.
