European Commission Publishes Synthesis of Responses to Scientific Publications Study

Majority of stakeholders respond positively to call for open access to publicly-funded research
The European Commission has published a synthesis
of the responses to the consultation on their Study
on the economic and technical evolution of the scientific publication markets in
Europe. The synthesis notes that 'There is significant support for the
recommendation that public access to the results of publicly-funded scientific
research should be guaranteed.' Individual responses, included that from SPARC
Europe, have also been made available.
