"Implementation Progress, Best Practices, and Future Challenges" is the title of the Berlin8 open access conference. For the first to come outside Europe, is co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Max Planck Society, and co-organized by the National, CAS and Max Planck Digital Library.

Astrid van Wesenbeeck, SPARC Europe Executive Director, has been invited to give a presentation on national collaborative repository projects and in particular, on the Dutch DAREnet project.

DAREnet stands for Digital Academic Repositories and is an initiative by SURFfoundation.
