SPARC Europe put together a pre-conference
session for the JISC/CNI
meeting held in Brighton, UK on 8/9 July 2004. The
programme highlighted the main areas of activity for
SPARC Europe: engaging policy makers in open access
issues, promoting the use of institutional repositories
and self-archiving, and open access journals. Speakers
from the Wellcome Trust, Glasgow University, and the
Public Library of Science gave excellent overviews of
these major issues of interest for open access.
